As the VIP hostess, I’ve seen more than forty boat parties this season alone. Each party is unique—every new crowd of up to 300 people brings a fresh set of vibes. And above all, you define the party.

Sure, the sangria helps. But sometimes it’s the Meluna that’s stronger, the music that’s faster, the mojitos sweeter, or the dancers hotter. One day you might get strawberries as snacks, another day just pineapple—still juicy enough to keep the energy flowing.

With all these contrasts, I’ve also noticed the patterns: the things people always do. So here’s my ultimate list of what you should do and what you definitely shouldn’t do on the Oceanbeat boat.

DOS

Put on sunscreen. I’ve seen too many people step off the boat lobster-red instead of the golden brown they were aiming for.

Use the waterslide. Jumping into the sea is fun, but sliding down into the Mediterranean brings out your inner child, and trust me, you’ll want to do it again and again.

Dance on the boxes by the DJ booth. They’re not just for the dancers, they’re for you as well. Knock back a hierbas shot, climb up, and feel like the captain of the party.

Kiss a stranger, flirt with the VIPs, make a new connection you’ll never forget.

Pose for Jago, our resident photographer and memory-maker. His photos end up online, polished and ready for your Instagram feed.

Dance like there’s no tomorrow. This is a boat party, not a boat show—don’t just watch, join in.

And if you’re feeling bold, ask for Tommy’s number. I promise I’m a great wingwoman.

DON’TS

Don’t forget to try the mojitos at the downstairs bar. They’re frosted with muscovado sugar, and if you want them a little stronger, just let us know—we’ll take care of it.

Don’t come hungry. We’ll give you enough fuel to keep going (croissants, muffins, fresh fruit), but the real tapas can wait until later.

Don’t be intimidated by the rocking dance floor. Yes, the boat moves, but that’s the point. Let the rhythm of the ocean guide you into dance moves you didn’t even know you had.

Don’t forget the after-party at Bora Bora. It’s just as much a part of the Oceanbeat experience as the boat itself, and you even get a free drink with your wristband.

And finally, don’t worry. Just be happy. That’s really the only rule you need.
