Ibiza Opening & Closing Parties 2026: Dates, Calendar & How to Plan It
Every Ibiza season has two emotional peaks: the opening parties, when the island wakes up after winter, and the closing parties, when six months of music get compressed into a few legendary final nights. If you only do one “pilgrimage” trip in your clubbing life, it’s almost certainly going to be one of these two windows.
This is the complete 2026 guide — what happened at the openings, every closing date confirmed so far, the expected windows for the rest, and how to actually plan a trip around them. We update this page as new dates are announced, so bookmark it.

Opening Parties 2026: How the Season Started
The 2026 season launched in late April, with the International Music Summit setting the tone and the superclubs — Pacha, Ushuaïa, Hï and company — firing off their flagship opening parties over the last weekend of the month. The openings then rolled on through May as every venue, beach club and residency staged its own season debut.
If you missed them: don’t worry. Ask any island regular and most will tell you the closings are the better trip anyway — the weather is still warm, the sea is at its hottest, the crowds are more devoted, and the residents play the longest, most emotional sets of their year. Which brings us to the main event.
What Exactly Is a Closing Party?
There’s no single official “closing day” in Ibiza. Each club and each residency decides when to end its own season — which is why closings are scattered from mid-September to mid-October, and why a residency can close weeks before the club that hosts it shuts its doors. The grand finale, though, is concentrated in the last weekend of September and the first two weekends of October, when the superclubs throw their farewell nights back to back.

Why Closings Hit Different
Openings are a celebration of what’s coming. Closings are a goodbye — and it shows. Residents play extended, personal, anything-goes sets. Guest DJs come back to their “home” rooms one last time. The crowd is a mix of season regulars, island workers finally off duty, and clubbers who flew in specifically for this. Add warm late-summer sea, soft light, thinner daytime crowds and cheaper rooms than August, and you get what many consider the best two weeks of the entire Ibiza year.
How to Plan a Closing Trip
Pick your window. There are two strategic ones:
- Last weekend of September — the first wave of big farewells, with the island still in full swing around them.
- First two weekends of October — the grand finale week, when Ushuaïa, Pacha and the other giants bow out. This is “closing week” proper.
Book the headline nights early. Closings routinely sell out before openings do — the fanbase plans months ahead. As soon as a date is confirmed, lock the ticket; the room can wait, the party can’t.
Stack your nights smartly. Closings cluster Friday-to-Monday, so a 4–5 night trip can realistically hit three or four farewell parties. Pace yourself with a recovery day — a Formentera day trip in October is the island at its calmest and most beautiful.
Mind your budget anyway. Tickets for marquee closings run high, but everything else — flights, hotels, dinners — costs 30–50% less than peak August. Our Ibiza cost guide breaks down how to make the saving work for you, and the EasyGo Discount Pass still applies across the venues that stay open.
Warm up like a local. Closing nights start late and run long. An open bar pre-party before the club remains the best money move on the island — especially when the club drink prices are at season-finale levels.
Is October Too Late for Ibiza?
No — and this is the most underrated fact in this guide. The island stays lively well into the second week of October, the sea is still swimmable, restaurants and beaches are blissfully uncrowded, and the final parties are running at full power. What changes is the energy: less chaos, more devotion. If August Ibiza is a festival, October Ibiza is a family reunion.
